BY SAMUEL NJINGA IN MASVINGO.
It was a warm up package into Christmas for the majority of people as love took centre stage in the ancient city of Masvingo this weekend when Valentine Ganduri and Euna Bingepinge sealed their union in a grand wedding ceremony held at the elegant Urban Life Styles Hotel, drawing an estimated 5 000 guests from across the province and beyond.
The colourful ceremony transformed the hotel into a hive of celebration, as family members, church congregants, friends and admirers gathered to witness the couple exchange vows in holy matrimony.
Presiding over the service was Masvingo Provincial Overseer of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM), Reverend Donard Ndoni, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Tendai Ndoni. In a sermon anchored on Ephesians 5:21–30 and 1 Peter 3:1 and beyond, Rev Ndoni described marriage as “a lifelong journey of discovery,” where husband and wife continuously learn, understand and grow with each other. He emphasised love, tolerance and mutual respect as the pillars that sustain a lasting union.
Valentine Ganduri, the third-born in a family of five, is a truck driver by profession. His name, Valentine, aptly reflects themes of love, devotion and commitment, values that were evident throughout the ceremony. His father commended him for good behaviour and discipline from childhood, attributes he said have moulded him into a responsible husband.
The bride, Euna Bingepinge, is the second-born in a family of three and works with one of Masvingo’s most reputable car dealership companies. The name Euna is commonly associated with grace, kindness and compassion, qualities that many at the ceremony said she embodies. Her father expressed heartfelt gratitude to people from all walks of life who supported the couple on their special day.
The wedding was further defined by its carefully chosen colour palette of burnt orange, cream and shades of brown, each carrying symbolic meaning. Burnt orange reflected warmth, passion and enthusiasm, cream symbolised purity, peace and new beginnings, while the earthy brown tones represented stability, strength and a solid foundation — essential elements for a successful marriage.
As music, dance and jubilation filled the venue, the Ganduri–Bingepinge union stood out not only for its grandeur but also for its strong message of faith, love and commitment. For many who attended, the wedding was a powerful reminder that marriage, when anchored in mutual respect and guided by spiritual values, remains a timeless institution.
The couple begin their married life surrounded by blessings, celebration and high expectations from both families and the wider community.
