Candidates who are contesting in Mwenezi East parliamentary by-elections  say they will uplift the living standards of the  people in the district if elected into office.

Master Makope of Zanu PF told Hevoi FM News that  he will carry out road rehabilitation projects in the constituency.

“The electorate in Mwenezi East constituency are facing a lot of challenges but my first priority will be to ensure that the 10 P- Neshuro road which over the years has been in a bad state will be rehabilitated,” said Makope.

Tendekai Mandizvidza of Citizens Coalition for Change party says he will create employment opportunities in the district.

“We must ensure that employment is created…..for instance there is a gold mine in the district, youths must be empowered with employment. Our roads must be rehabilitated, “said Mandizvidza.

In Mwenezi East constituency by elections will be held following the death of the then House of Assembly member, Josibee Omar in 2020.

 Parliamentary by- elections in Masvingo province will be held in Chivi South and Mwenezi East constituencies.
