Chief Chivi, born Tavagwisa Magura, has passed away at the remarkable age of 105. Chief Chivi was renowned for his wisdom and dedication to the development of his community in Chivi district. He died at his homestead on the 1st of January, leaving behind a legacy of progress and growth.
Chivi District Administrator Innocent Matingwina expressed his deep sorrow, describing Chief Chivi as a pillar of strength for the community. Matingwina praised Chief Chivi’s leadership, which brought significant improvements to the lives of those in his jurisdiction. His efforts to promote education, gender equality, agriculture, and infrastructure development in his area were particularly notable.
Matingwina said, Chief Chivi’s passing is a significant loss to the community. The late Chief Chivi will be laid to rest on Sunday.
