Mushagashe villagers benefit from Beitbridge Chirundu road rehabilitation programme.By Samuel Njinga

Close to three hundred Mushagashe villagers have managed to benefit from the Beitbridge Chirundu road rehabilitation programme following securing themselves jobs as casual workers in this project. ZANU PF party Vice President Kembo Mohadi said government was grateful that villagers were benefitting from the project.
“This is something that we promised people that we are going to do to people in our manifesto. This is what we have achieved. We are very happy about it. We are even employing people nearby. This is an empowerment sort of exercise. Villagers who the road would have trans versed through must have something to give back to their families.” said Mohadi.

Vice party President Mohad on Monday toured and assessed progress in construction of this road at Mushagashe area. The government prioritised Beitbridge Chirundu highway rehabilitation as key in transforming Zimbabwe to an upper middle-income economy by 2030. The estimated cost of the construction work is USD2.7 Billion and the task is expected to be complete in the virgins of 2022. So far 40% of the Masvingo Harare road has been rehabilitated.
