Masvingo mayor, councilor Collin Maboke told Hevoi FM News that construction workers are on site.
“As per our promise to residents and other stakeholders, we have begun construction of Rujeko Secondary School and currently the work is on foundation level,”said Maboke.
Maboke said the local authority is hoping to complete construction of two classrooms so that enrolment can begin in 2022.
“We are hoping that by year end, we would have completed construction of two blocks. We hope to start enrolling pupils next year once the ministry of Primary and Secondary Education gives us a green light. We are excited by the project which will benefit Rujeko community as pupils were walking long distances to nearby schools,”said Maboke.
Currently some pupils are walking all the way to Ndarama, Mucheke, Victoria and Masvingo Day high schools for their secondary education.
