Old Mutual Zimbabwe has stepped in to support families affected by the tragic loss of lives at Lake Kariba, offering free funeral services to assist with the burial of the victims.
The intervention, being delivered through the financial services group’s funeral business, Old Mutual Funeral Services, is aimed at easing the burden on bereaved families as Zimbabwe continues to mourn the lives lost in the tragedy.
Old Mutual Funeral Services teams are apparently on the ground, providing practical and logistical assistance to families during the difficult period.
The support package includes the collection and transportation of the deceased, transport and logistical support for families, hearse services, assistance with burial arrangements, and administrative support related to funeral preparations.
Old Mutual Zimbabwe says the initiative is part of its commitment to standing in solidarity with communities during times of national grief and ensuring that affected families are able to give their loved ones a dignified farewell.
The company says its response is not only about providing funeral services, but also demonstrating compassion and practical support at a time when families are grappling with the emotional and logistical consequences of the tragedy.
Old Mutual Funeral Services is a full-service funeral solutions provider offering end-to-end support, including the collection and transportation of the deceased, funeral planning and coordination, mortuary and funeral parlour services, repatriation, hearse services and burial arrangements.
The funeral business operates in several locations across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Karoi, Chiredzi and Gweru, and is continuing to expand its footprint to bring services closer to communities.
