Women who are into marketing gardening at Maregere village under Chief Maregere in Chivi district are appealing for an irrigation pipe so that they can be able to flourish their project.
The women told Hevoi FM News that they are having to water their garden using water buckets after sourcing water from a nearby dam.
“We are kindly requesting donors and government to assist us in sourcing an electric pump and irrigation pipe for we are using buckets to water our garden. Some of us are now old and it is now difficult for us to carry water buckets on our heads on a daily basis,”said the women.
“Our project can flourish if we manage to be assisted to start irrigation. We are able to fend for our families by selling our produce to the local community but our work will be made easier if we manage to irrigate our crops,”added the women.
The women are into marketing gardening and are producing crops such as beans, tomatoes, vegetables and onions. The project was started with the assistance of a local Non-governmental organization.
