Masvingo residents are calling on the local authority to complete its projects on time.
In an interview with Hevoi FM News, Masvingo Residents Forum, Prosper Tiringindi secretary said the local authority had pledged to finish new dump site project by August this year, but ‘nothing concrete has been done’.
“The city council had promised to complete the dump site project by August, but we are now approaching November without the project being completed,”said Tiringindi.
“We also have the road project where the company contracted by the local authority just left heaps of gravel along Kelvin Majange road in Runyararo West, a situation that is now disturbing the flow of traffic. The same applies in Rujeko suburb.Council must do a project at a time and complete within the stipulated time frame,”said Tiringindi.
Masvingo mayor, councilor Collen Maboke told Hevoi FM News that the dump site project is in progress and hopefully it will be complete before the end of this year.
“There have been a good progress at the new dump site but the delay has been caused by lack of adequate machinery and we are hoping to complete the project by November. On the road rehabilitation along Kelvin Majange road in Runyararo West suburb, within the next few days the project will kick off.We are imploring the residents associations to first come to our offices and request for progress before they rush to the media,”said Maboke.
