Government need to extend business operating hours-Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers. BY REGIS CHINGAWO

The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers president, Denford Mutashu is urging government is extend business operating hours so that retailers can boost their income.
Mutashu said while the retailers welcome government’s move of extending the lockdown by another two weeks with the view of containing the spread of COVID 19 pandemic, there is a need for an extension of operating hours.
“The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers would like to applaud the government for extending the lockdown restriction by a further two weeks.We are however appealing for an extension of the business operating hours from 8 am to 1530 hrs to 7 am to 17 00 hrs, while curfew hours moving from the current 1830 hrs to 6 am to 22 00 hrs to 5 am.We believe that humble request will go a long way of alleviating the gravely negative impact of COVID 19 pandemic on business,”said Mutashu.
Meanwhile the Masvingo business community has also appealed to government to also extend business operating hours for businesses to stay afloat.
