The mayor of Masvingo, councilor Collin Maboke has revealed that the Mucheke Trunk Sewer project has reached phase two stage and that plans are to complete the project in 2023.
Maboke told Hevoi FM News that a company contracted to carry out the project that will ensure that the sewer line is connected from Rujeko suburb to Victoria Ranch has done some excavation on trenches and is now laying out some sewer pipes.
“We are grateful that the excavation process has been done and now laying of pipes is now being carried out.This project is one of some projects we are doing using the devolution funds we got from government,”said Maboke, adding that they hope that by 2023, the whole project would have been completed.
Maboke also revealed that by December, the local authority would have completed maintenance of tower lights in Mucheke and Rujeko suburbs.
“We have already started maintaining tower lights in Rujeko and Mucheke suburbs…..you can see for yourself that the tower light near Mucheke craft centre is now well lit.We plan that by year end we would have completed the process and then focus to other areas,”said Maboke.
On the construction project of Runyararo West Clinic, Maboke said:
“We are almost done with construction and we are now left with purchasing other materials and we are also hoping that by December, the clinic would have open its doors to residents.”
