Masvingo residents have applauded Masvingo City for the projects they are doing to uplift the city but say the local authority must improve on the quality of water they are getting from their tapes.
Masvingo residents say they are appreciative of the facelift programme that has been done along Mutare road in Downtown area and the recreational park that is being constructed near Mucheke River Bridge.
“We would like to applaud council for the projects they are doing, roads have been rehabilitated, face-lifting of the city is being done, the Central Business District is now clean as refuse is being collected on time,”said a resident.
However some residents are calling on the council to improve the water quality coming from the tapes which they say, still has a brownish colour.
“We are however appealing to the city fathers to do something about our water….its still not clean as it has a brownish colour.Something must be done orelse we have to meet as residents and chart the way forward,”said Masvingo United Residents and Ratepayers Alliance spokesperson, Godfrey Mtimba.The local authority said the brownish colour is being caused by pipes leakages and said they are working on the issue.
