Masvingo United Residents and Ratepayers Alliance board chairperson, Thomas Mbetu said the local authority must ensure that the clinics under it’s jurisdiction have adequate medicine and drugs.
Applauding the city council for striving to ensure that residents access medical care as seen by it’s efforts in completing Runyararo West Clinic, Mbetu says more needs to be done in the procurement of drugs and medicine.
“We would like to give thumbs up to Masvingo city council for the construction of the long awaited Runyararo West Clinic as this will mean that residents will access health care,”said Mbetu.
He added:
“We are however urging the local authority to ensure that its clinics have adequate medicine and drugs. From a survey we carried as Murra, we realized that council clinics have no adequate stocks of drugs and medicine.”
Masvingo city council owns, Rujeko, Mucheke and Runyararo clinics. The Runyararo West Clinic is expected to be fully functional by December this year.
