Emergency road rehabilitation programme has reached a great level in Chivi as government is fast tracking the exercise in the district. This was confirmed by the Chivi District Development Cordinator Innocent Matingwina in an interview with Hevoi FM news.
“The relaxation of COVID 19 restrictive measures to Level 2 has enabled us to resume the emergency road rehabilitation programme. So far there is progress taking place. We have managed to rehabilitate the Bvute dust road. The Chivi-Maringire dust road that links us with the Harare-Beitbridge highway is almost complete.” said Matingwina.
Villagers in the area are in a jovial mood. “We look forward to transporting our agricultural commodities without any hustles once this project is complete.” said one villager identified as Tariro Ruwesha.
The government has set aside 33.6 billion dollars in an attempt to rehabilitate most of the roads that were damaged by the heavy rains that fell during the onset of this year
