Residents of Masvingo have expressed shock following the death of a police officer,Kennedy Mange who committed suicide in Runyararo West suburb.
Mange was found hanging on a tree in the early hours of Wednesday morning outside his home.
Residents say people must seek guidance rather than taking lives.

“It’s very painful to lose life just like that.My advice is that people must learn to resolve disputes amicably instead of taking their lives. There are people out there who can assist,”said a resident of Runyararo West suburb.

A church leader who requested not to be identified said the incident showed that the devil was at work.

“When a person takes his or her own life by hanging, it shows that the demonic world is at work. The incident brought great sadness to the area of Chibhesi. We need to pray for we are leaving in a demonic world,” he said.Mange worked at ZRP Masvingo Rural police station and reasons for the suicide are not yet clear.
“We are investigating why the officer took his life,”said police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
