Rhodene residents who live along Mahogany and Wisteria roads in Masvingo say they have now spent three days without electricity services falling the heavy rains that pounded the area on Saturday.
Residents told Hevoi FM News that the power utility company, Zesa has not been forthcoming in rectifying the anomaly.
“We have since Saturday been living in the dark as we have no electricity. What makes us angry is that despite our pleas to ZESA to assist us, our pleas have fallen on deaf ears, “said a resident.
Another resident said:
“Our perishable food has now been rotten. What irks is that we pay for electricity bills but our problem has been ignored.Zesa must at least communicate with us rather than keeping mum.Electricty was switched off on Saturday following heavy rains and since then we have no electricity.”
No comment could be obtained from ZESA, but a worker at the power utility company says the problem will be soon attended to following a burst transformer.
