A twenty-five year old Chivi man, Eddison Takaendesa was on Tuesday arraigned before the Masvingo MagistratesCourt to answer criminal charges on stock theft following allegations that he stole two she goats from a farm at his Ngomahuru based employer. It is the state case that on 6 July in the afternoon this year, the accused hired Delight Nyambi who is a tax driver to drive him to the complainants farm where upon arrival the accused unlawfully opened the kraal and took two black and white she goats from it.
The state alleges that the two then drove back to Chivi Turn Off business Centre where the two goats were upon arrival sold at USD65 to one Tendai Svove who is a restaurant operator. Svove is said to have subsequently slaughtered these goats.
The matter came to light when the owner of the goats was tipped about the whereabouts of his goats by a relative. He then reported the matter to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (Ngomahuru base) who upon investigations arrested Takaendesa on the 9th of July. The magistrate Conceptor Ngwerume is anticipated to come up with the verdict in this case.
