Masvingo residents cry foul over power cuts.BY TATENDA CHIKARA

Masvingo residents are crying foul over crippling power cuts owing to faults and load shedding. Some residents in the high density area of Mucheke suburb are threatening to sue ZESA as their electrical gadgets have been damaged.
Residents who spoke to Hevoi FM news said that it was disheartening to note that despite having purchased ZESA tokens, they still experienced such difficulties.
“It is baffling to note that despite I having purchased my ZESA tokens expecting to have electricity all day, I find electricity gone. I urge the power utility to notify residents on the days and times when they intend to switch us off,” one resident said.
Another resident weighed in saying that it was proper to be given a schedule of a load shedding programme.
“I think what ZESA should do is to make sure they give us a schedule as residents as to when they are going to switch off electricity to residents,” she said.
Other residents say ZESA must compensate them as their electrical gadgets have been damaged.
Some of the most affected suburbs include Mucheke A, Mucheke D, Hillside, Rujeko and Sisk areas.
THE Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) is experiencing limited power supply which will result in load shedding in some parts of the country.

In a statement, last week, Zesa said there is limited power supply in the national grid due to a technical fault at Hwange Power Station.
