A lawyer from Help Initiative of People’s Organizations, Abiniel Gwezhira told Hevoi FM News that a survey done has revealed that most youths in the country are not aware of the contents of the country’s constitution.
“ From our findings, we have discovered that most of the youths are not aware of the country’s constitution and this will affect their development,”said Gwezhira.
He added:
‘For a long-time women and youth have faced structural barriers which have prevented their meaningful participation in politics and governance processes of the country.”
This comes at a time when the government amended section 124 of the country’s Constitution and reserved 10 proportional seats in the national assembly for youths.
