The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has issued a stern warning to unregistered schools operating in Zimbabwe, threatening to shut them down.
According to the Director of Communications and Advocacy in the Ministry, Taungana Ndoro the government will not tolerate any institution that operates outside the law.
“We have been monitoring the situation, and unfortunately, some schools have been operating without proper registration and accreditation,” Ndoro said.
Ndoro revealed that the Ministry will soon embark on a nationwide exercise to identify and shut down other non-compliant institutions.
“We urge parents and guardians to be vigilant and ensure that their children attend registered and accredited schools,” Ndoro cautioned.
Ndoro said they will not hesitate to take action against any school that fails to meet the required standards.
The Ministry’s crackdown on illegal schools is part of its efforts to improve the quality of education in Zimbabwe and ensure that all learners have access to safe and reputable learning environments.
Parents and guardians are advised to verify the registration status of schools before enrolling their children.
