Villagers in Zaka North district have begun farming preparations using the Pfumvudza programme.
Zaka North House of Assembly member, told Hevoi FM news that villagers have welcomed the Pfumvudza programme.
“Villagers here are busy working on their pieces of land preparing for the Pfumvudza programme.Last year for instance some villagers in ward 5 sold over 460 metric tonnes to the Grain Marketing Board using the Pfumvudza method of farming,”said Mavhenyengwa.
The legislator added that villagers were waiting for farming inputs.
“Villagers in the district are hoping that government will quickly disburse farming inputs before the onset of the rains and are looking forward to a bumper yield,”he said.
Weather experts have predicted that the county will receive normal to above normal rainfall this coming season.
